Renewable Energy
Communities.
JAF Renováveis structures and operates Renewable Energy Communities for municipalities, neighbourhoods, residential blocks and business parks. Solar generation shared locally, with a measurable benefit for each consumer.
A Renewable Energy Community (CER) lets several consumers share locally generated solar power – cutting bills, adding value to the area and reducing dependence on the traditional grid. JAF Renováveis structures, licenses, installs and operates the community from end to end.
- Technical and legal assessment – feasibility, sizing, internal rules, member contracts and the relationship with the grid operator.
- Ongoing operation – running the metering platform, allocating surplus, billing, reporting and optimisation across the life of the community.
Five steps to your CER.
Technical, legal and financial assessment – consumption profile of prospective members, space available for generation and the regulatory framework.
Setting up the managing entity, drafting the internal rules, member contracts and registration with the DGEG.
Photovoltaic design, permits, grid connection and certification – under Grupo JAF technical coordination.
Building the solar installation, setting up the smart metering platform and starting shared operation.
Day-to-day management, maintenance, member billing and monthly reports on generation, consumption, savings and avoided emissions.
What a CER typically delivers.
Typical ranges from communities already in operation, not a guaranteed outcome. The figure for any given project depends on the consumption profile, installed capacity, number of members and the tariff in force, and is established in the feasibility study.
Energy communities are one strand of the Group's Energy area. For generation dedicated to a single consumer, the route is self-consumption under Renewables; to buy supply from the grid, it is energy retail.
